Armaldo card - LM 3/50

Description

Armaldo is a tanky Pokémon with potential for dealing strong attacks and leaving your opponent breathless. After performing an attack, it however risks to leave its defense open. It must have been extinct for some reason! (It is a huge mystery, but Deoxys, Yveltal or Primal Groudon/Kyogre are also suspects for causing it).

Initially, I gave this card Ability to reduce 20 damage for each Price card your opponent had taken. I realised however  that 100 damage reduction after 5 price cards taken would be busted op. Now it is fairly nerfed or possibly even underpowered (considering Fossil Pokémon usually are hard to get into play). Its Ancient Frenzy attack also risks to disable its own Ability after all. In my experience, a players hand usually consists out of 3-5 cards after each turn (depending on deck and game phase), and should average block about 40 damage.

I found the art using google images. 37.media.tumblr.com/0fb1bb2fc6…
I failed to track the original source however, so unknown Illustrator for the moment. The art has been heavy edited and color modified to fit an Armaldo card.

For all cards in the set, I use paulsnoops blanks. Big credits to him for an amazing work providing these high quality blanks! All the blanks have their size reduced to 486X678 (original 734X1024), which I think fits my cards perfectly. The blanks also have their saturation reduced by 25 to give them a tune I prefer. For fighting blanks I also increased the darken highlights by 15% to make the blanks darker (which before was to light for my taste).

The Armaldo is cool! I like how you can force your opponent to do less damage by using something like an N to reduce your damage by 60, 70 after the draw, forcing your opponent to discard cards to get prizes. It's attack does defeat it a little bit, but that's fine, it's like a rushed frenzy, you have a chance of being open! I love the adjustments you do to the blanks before you make the cards, it give it your own personal touch, just like how I don't add periods at the end of my attack effects :)
